A Pen is Just a Pen, Isn't It?

I don’t understand the expensive pen.

To me, a Write Bros. pen is just fine and dandy. I can get a dozen for a fraction of the cost of the expensive ones.

And then you don't have to worry about losing your pen.

While in general I agree, I did acquire a nice Mont Blanc pen from a friend who thought I needed it more than him and it writes well. Really well. Too bad I can't use it on the intertrons...

Yeah, I don't get the pens that cost hundreds of dollars. That's just asking me to lose it.

I buy my sunglasses at the dollar store. I never lose them. I bought 1 pair of ray bans for $50 bucks, I lost them in a week.

My company gives them out for 5-year work anniversaries (you know, like instead of something people would really like, such as $). I never liked writing with mine and later sold it at a yard sale for 50 cents.

Just came over here from Cece's place. I know this is a late comment, but I love the expensive pens. I consider them "functional jewelry," and get more compliments on a nice fountain pen than I EVER do a bracelet or earrings. Give me a pen over a bauble any day.

I like cheap pens too, though--if they write smoothly. I cannot abide a skipping pen. I mean it, now!
