You Like Me! You REALLY Like Me!
I don't like to boast or brag and say things like "Look how cool I am!" But every once in a while, when someone says something nice about you and/or the things you do, you can't help yourself. We've all had those moments in life when we've gone to our family or friends and said things similar to:
"Guess what my boss said about me in my performance review?"
"I got a bonus at work today!"
"Carly said the sweetest thing to me today. Listen to this..."
"I won first place!"
"She said that I was the best lay...EVER!"
Well, yesterday I was stopped by to check out Whatever Blows My Skirt. She had gotten her blog reviewed by something called The Jack Factor and was excited about what was said. After reading her review, I went ahead and submitted my blog for review.
I was amazed by what Jack (whoever he is) had to say about my blog. I mean, I knew that my little space here wasn't bad, and I don't think that it's as good as he alleges it to be, but he had some really nice things to say. His criticisms of HToV were right on the money, and are the same critcisms I have about it.
So, this is me saying "Hey! Guess what The Jack Factor said about my blog?" Click here to read the review. And don't stop there. Check out what he's said about some other blogs...some you may know, and some you may not know. And for shiggles (that's shorthand for shits and giggles), submit your own.

I agree with Jack on your content. Good stuff. But I disagree on your template. It's fine. You don't always need a flashy, fancy background to pull readers in.

Sara Sue, the blog template that I currently have IS in response to the suggested change. The previous template I had was functional, but very generic. I had tried several times to make it more "snazzy," but that's just not my strong suit (neither here nor in real life).
I had submitted my blogs to several other "review-my-blog" type sites, and all of them had something similar to say about the bland template. But I think Jack's review was the most accurate and was able to articulate (exceptionally well) his opinons and thoughts.
So, I changed it. It may change again, as I'm not too keen on dark backgrounds, but we'll see what happens.
